The "other" Clinton

A few days ago I read a cute diary about drafting Chelsea Clinton for the VP slot. Now it might have been snarky, I do not know, but I did not take it that way, and it gave me a nice chuckle. And it started me thinking. Whomever wrote it (I wish I could give them credit and find the diary) had some really valid points about Chelsea's potential as a future candidate somewhere, somehow. Funny thing is, there was a story on this very topic on CNN this morning. I had heard that the MSM lurks about in blogs to get ideas for stories. Too bad they do not give credit where credit is due. So to whomever wrote that diary (last week?), kudos to you.

I know, I know, I am still watching corporate MSM. Someone has to keep an eye on them ;-P.

Oh and they ended the piece with "the potential makings of a political dynasty there". Indeed, and a far worthier one than the one we have just lived through.

They're desperate for more drama (none / 0)

They seem to be carefully grooming Chelsea out of the spotlight.  It's really quite odd how little we know about someone who is in such a public position.

She's proven as a strong campaigner; the problem is that she doesn't seem as prone to drama as her parents.  I know the media is desperate for more Clinton scandal, but I don't think Chelsea is going to be the one to give it to them.

Potential candidate or not, she'll still either have to start out smaller or wait. The age limit of 35 is also in effect for the VP. That'll be seven years from now.

Re: The "other" Clinton (none / 0)

I was not seriously suggesting that she be picked for the VP slot and I am fairly certain that the author of the diary was either. However I could see her running for something smaller as you suggest.

she's very (none / 0)

popular in NY - At Hillary's final event in the city, there just as many "chelsea we love you's" as there were "hillary we love you's"

RFK Jr. is up in line for the next senate slot, but I wouldnt rule out chelsea somewhere in the state in the future.

"RFK Jr. is up in line for the next senate slot"

I'm wondering if this is snark. It could just as easily be a serious comment as being snark, and I respect your opinion either way, but I'm curious.

Re: The "other" Clinton (none / 0)

She needs to accomplish something in her own life first -- some form of public service, etc.  I have no doubt that she can.

I don't think that's true.  She could write a few bio's.  That ought to do it.

she should run for Congress (none / 0)

and hopefully, work to take Pelosi out of her misery, by which I mean being in the Speaker spot. I want the Clintons as a political dynasty. Democrats need a dynasty. The Kennedy one is getting on, and the members don't look like they're going anywhere. Chelsea is young, smart, and rich, the perfect makings of a politician.

Agreed, and as I said above, a significant improvement over the Bushies. I am hoping that line will fade away with a conviction for war crimes at the World Court. After Barack get's us back into the World Court, that is.
